Angels Wings Foundation Rural Teaching Scholarship

Bui Simon, Founder of Angels Wings Foundation and H.E. Somjai Suwansupana, Mayor of Phuket, announce the addition of two new recipients of the Angels Wings Rural Teaching Scholarship. The scholarship will entitle these pre-qualified students, all of whom are from Phuket, to funds including housing for the entire five-year Bachelor Degree curriculum in Education at various reputable universities in Thailand after which they will all return to Phuket to teach.

Celebrating strength, fashion and philanthropy, Angels Wings Foundation recently co-hosted a luncheon with C Magazine and Valentino in order to raise funds for the implementation of a support program to provide education for the women and children in rural Thailand. The women’s luncheon brought together successful female leaders and role models in support of a great cause. “Because of the generous contributions made by these women today, we at Angels Wings Foundation are able to empower more children to become the respected role models they have the potential to be. We pride ourselves on being a small foundation in nature but mighty in our purposeful approach and we hope to continue to aid the families, schools and organizations that provide these children with the opportunity to become the future leaders of tomorrow,” said Founder & President Bui Simon.

December 2004 Tsunami Relief

After the waves from the December 2004 tsunami subsided, Phang Nga’s city lay floating in pieces in the ocean and its fishing boats had been crashed upon the rocks of the nearby hills of the area. In March, 2005, with the support of the Military Housewife Association and the Secretary General’s office, Angels Wings donated twelve new boats to the fisherman of Phang Nga. A dedication ceremony was held for Angels Wings founder, Bui Simon to provide the donation to the Secretary General’s wife Veena Shinawatra.

Emporium Shopping Complex Donation

Considered as Bangkok’s most prominent fashion center, the Emporium Shopping Complex pledged a percentage of sales to benefit Angels Wings. A special event was held at the Emporium, graced by young Thai dancers and chaired by Emporium Executive Directors Luckana Naviroj, Siriluck Maithai and Managing Director Kriengsak Tantipiphop. Consumers who contributed to the campaign were handed a token of appreciation- a white polo shirt, embroidered with the Angels Wings logo.

Bui Visits Phang Nga Emergency Center

Angels Wing founder, Bui Simon visited an emergency center in the hardest hit community of Thailand, Phang Nga. She arrived with hope and aid. Donations included hot meals, entertainment, playground equipment, a personal monetary contribution and words of encouragement. More than 10,000 walked from nearby villages to show their support for their beloved benefactor. February 27, 2005

The December 2004 tsunami devastated the southern areas of Thailand. Homes and businesses were washed out to sea and a harbor full of boats and ships were left wedged into the mountains. Current living conditions in the area left thousands in despair. Without the slightest of modern conveniences, electricity, shelter or food, the Thais are forced to live in tents as they bravely strive to rebuild their livelihood.
